Anne has taken steps to see that the Easter Eggs are filled for the Egg
Hunt. If
Hank can not have the Youth group do it then Anna will have the jr. high class
take care of it Sunday morning. If either of those plans do not work
then Anne or Jean Ann will fill them. Stella and the jr. high teachers
will meet with the jr. and sr. high students on Easter Sunday by 9:30, to hide
the eggs in the 3 designated areas. Enough eggs and fillings have been
donated. Jean Ann will help with the egg hunt if needed.
Margaret Grant will work with the Sunday School children at the usual time
this Palm Sunday Morning and also will need them at 10:00 to practice singing
with the adult choir. The teachers have been informed.
The Sunday School classes have been collecting money to donate to the Jamison
Center as an Easter project. Greg Hanel spoke to the children about the
purpose of Jamison Center. Greg is a social worker for Jamison.
Anne will be gone for the 2 Sundays following Easter. Margaret will be
leading the music at the openings as usual. Jean Ann will dismiss the
children with a prayer and address needs at that time.
Adult Education classes are going well. Nick will finish up his class
on May 14th. Dwight's class has 6 lessons left which would have him finishing
up May 21st. The last day of Sunday School is June 4th. The
adult classes could return to the t.v video's that they have done in the past
if we can find a discussion leader.
The Wednesday Evening Disciple group will finish up the 2nd week of May. They
have asked for samples from Cokesbury Publishing House but they have not arrived
yet. They will choose from those samples their topics for next year. The
class is considering shorter sessions (6-10 weeks) to entice others to join
in next fall. They do not meet in the summer.
Vacation Church School will be having a meeting in May or early June for those
involved.
Anne is willing to teach the 30 Second Class on welcoming new people to either
the Adult Sunday School class or to fill in for Barbara's Thursday morning
class when she is gone next fall.
Please let me know ASAP if there is anything that has been overlooked and needs
attention.
Otherwise the next Education Committee Meeting will be May 3rd at 5:00 p.m.
in the Lounge.
